In Genesis 18–19, we see a powerful contrast between Abraham’s faithful intercession and Lot’s compromised lifestyle. Abraham pleads with God to spare Sodom if even a few righteous people are found, revealing God’s mercy and Abraham’s heart for others. Meanwhile, Lot, though considered righteous, barely escapes the destruction with his family, having settled near sin and hesitated to leave. The sermon “Maximizing or Meeting the Minimum” challenges us to examine whether we’re fully pursuing God’s purposes like Abraham—maximizing our faith—or just getting by spiritually like Lot, meeting the bare minimum.
